HR Business Partner Clayton Services is searching for an HR Business Partner to join a thriving company in West Houston. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for aligning human resources strategy with business operations, managing complex employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations, and supporting leadership and employees across the organization.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Work Setting: Hybrid - (Monday & Friday remote & Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday in office)

HR Business Partner Responsibilities:

Serve as a strategic HR partner to management and employees across assigned business units

Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting thorough and objective investigations

Provide day-to-day guidance to managers on performance management, coaching, counseling, corrective action, and disciplinary processes

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Provide interpretation and guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices

Support workforce planning, organizational changes, restructures, and succession planning initiatives

Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation for office and field employees

Support employee engagement initiatives, communications, and team-building activities

Analyze HR metrics and trends to develop solutions, programs, and policy improvements

Track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including anti-harassment and discrimination training

Support administration and recordkeeping related to ACA, ADA, FMLA, COBRA, EEOC, EEO-1, FCRA, LOA, STD, and other employment-related requirements

Assist with HR compliance and policy development for new contracts and business initiatives

Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations as needed

Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within electronic HR systems

Collaborate with internal departments and leadership to support organizational goals

Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

HR Business Partner Skills and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of employee relations, investigations, and employment law

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities

High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines

Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)

Proficient with LLM AI tools

Willingness to travel up to 15% per year as required

HR Business Partner Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum of 5+ years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues

Broad working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including performance management, compensation practices, employee relations, and employment law

Experience supporting field and/or multi-location workforces preferred

Knowledge of Davis-Bacon and Service Contract Act (SCA) regulations preferred

HR certifications, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR, are preferred

Experience working with Paycom is a plus
