Overview
Foley & Lardner is seeking a corporate associate with 4-6 years of relevant experience to join the Transactions Practice Group in our Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Salt Lake City, or Washington, DC office. Foley’s nationally integrated Transactions Practice Group principally handles M&A and securities matters for publicly and privately held middle market and upper mid-market companies, as well as private equity firms. This role focuses primarily on U.S. and cross‑border M&A transactions and is ideal for a “deal runner” who is comfortable overseeing matters with limited supervision and working directly with partners, senior associates, and clients.

Qualifications
Experience representing clients in complex corporate matters, including private equity M&A, mid‑market M&A, venture financings, securities, general corporate governance, and other commercial transactions.
Strong drafting and communication skills.
Business development aptitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
Positive attitude and exceptional work ethic.
Strong academic credentials: hold a J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of the bar in the jurisdiction(s) where admitted to practice. Timely admission in the hiring office’s state is a condition of employment.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $290,000 – $390,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job‑related factors permitted by law.
