Job Title and Location Solutions Sales Representative
— Sacramento, CA
Job Summary The Solutions Outside Sales Representative leads complex sales projects in the water industry. This role involves identifying and pursuing high-value sales opportunities, conducting sales presentations, site visits and preliminary system design, and developing strategies to improve sales performance. The Outside Sales Representative works closely with cross-functional teams to develop business, address customer needs, implement corrective actions, and sell complex water movement systems. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and training junior sales staff and providing technical expertise to support continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities; Build and maintain relationships with clients; Create and implement sales strategies; Meet and exceed sales targets; Conduct market research and analysis.
Account Management: Manage and grow existing client accounts; Schedule meetings and present to client decision makers; Provide excellent customer service and support; Upsell and cross-sell products and services; Address and resolve client concerns or issues; Maintain accurate records and reports of client interactions and sales activities.
Product Knowledge and Marketing: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and product knowledge; Promote and educate clients on new products and services; Participate in trade shows and events to promote company and products.
Administrative Tasks: Manage and maintain CRM database; Use portfolio planning resources to find new opportunities; Coordinate and schedule sales meetings and presentations; Monitor and track sales expenses and budgets.

Qualifications
Proficiency in sales tools and software (e.g., Salesforce, CRM systems); Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and plans; Experience in conducting market research and competitive analysis; Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Travel requirement: Regular in-region travel plus occasional overnight stays for sales and training purposes. Local travel requirement at 50%.
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience or equivalent work experience in related fields that provide exposure to fundamental theories and concepts of industrial water movement.
Knowledge of mechanical and pumping designs; hydraulic, pneumatics, and water flow in related fields of pumps and pumping systems; equipment rental experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and standard computer applications.
Ability to meet and continuously maintain authorization to operate a company vehicle.
