Responsibilities
Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 online tutoring to individual students.
Accept instant, on‑demand tutoring requests whenever available.
Develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
What We Look For In a Graphic Design Tutor
Advanced subject mastery: deep knowledge of design principles—including typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, branding, logo design, print and digital design—and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign). Ability to explain design thinking processes, grid systems, and visual communication theory while preparing students for design careers and portfolio development.
Conceptual teaching and problem‑solving: skilled at teaching design concept development, software proficiency, and visual communication strategies; guides students through typography selection, color palette creation, logo development, layout composition, and file preparation for print and digital output; emphasizes the design process from research to final execution and connects graphic design to branding, marketing, user experience, and visual storytelling career applications.
Curriculum awareness and adaptive instruction: familiar with graphic design curricula and common challenges such as developing original concepts, mastering Adobe tools, and understanding print versus digital production requirements; adapts instruction using design briefs, software tutorials, and progressive portfolio projects to support students from beginners to advanced designers preparing for careers or further education.
Effective teaching methods: ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
