With a mission to educate, entertain, and inspire future performers and theatre enthusiasts, Charm City Players offers programs including Summer Theatre Intensives, after-school programs, youth company productions, and professional training. Founded and led by Christina Zulauf, a veteran performing artist and arts educator with over 30 years of experience, the organization plays a vital role in nurturing young talent through high-quality productions and mentorship. Since 2011, Charm City Players has enriched the lives of countless aspiring performers in the region.
Role Description Charm City Players seeks a passionate and experienced Music & Camp Director for our Summer Theatre Intensives. In this contract role, you will lead music direction, oversee camp activities, and mentor young performers in on-site, hands-on workshops and rehearsals. Tasks include planning and coordinating musical elements of productions, working closely with youth participants, collaborating with the theatre team, managing daily camp operations, and ensuring a positive, inclusive environment. This on-site role is based in Baltimore, MD.
Qualifications
Experience in running camps and strong knowledge of camp operations
Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with youth, parents, and staff
Skills in youth development and working with children, with a focus on fostering growth and creativity
Experience in providing exceptional customer service in educational or theatrical settings
Ability to manage schedules, oversee productions, and inspire young performers
Background in music direction, theatre, or performing arts is highly desirable
A bachelor’s degree in Music, Theatre, Arts Education, or a related field is a plus
Previous experience in camp programs or educational theatre is beneficial
