Job Summary Responsible for directing the patient admissions function of the facility, including scheduling, registration, eligibility, benefit verification, pre-authorization, financial counseling/patient financial education, and pre-service/point of service collections. Develops policies and procedures that support organizational goals and objectives for the patient admissions function.

Essential Functions

Responsible for hospital admissions organizational strategies and establishing admissions objectives in line with organization goals.

Directs patient admissions and access operations, staffing, policies and procedures.

Determines and implements admissions best-practices, develops and revises admission and discharge processes.

Oversees admissions trend analysis; preparation of critical measurements; implementation of production, productivity, quality, and patient‑service goals; leads system improvements.

Develops, implements, and maintains revenue‑generating strategies related to admissions and patient capacity.

Enhances hospital patient care delivery system by fostering admissions function communication between admissions and clinical staff.

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes.

Licenses and Credentials:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN - State License) – Generic – HR Only preferred; Physical Therapist (State License) – Generic – HR Only preferred; Registered Nurse (RN - State License) – Generic – HR Only preferred.

Experience:

Admissions experience 5-7 years required; admissions leadership experience 5-7 years required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of industry policies and practices.

Ability to motivate and develop others.

Ability to communicate tactfully, both verbally and in writing, with program leadership, patients, families, managers, coworkers to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.

Proficient with Microsoft products and comfortable learning new technologies.

Ability to assimilate and analyze large amount of data/information within a data set.
