Job Description
Kratos Defense & Rocket Support Services Division is rapidly growing across multiple markets. Kratos is seeking a Strategic Growth Programs Director focused on ground‑based and sea‑based radar systems. The Director will develop, lead, and drive strategic growth initiatives and relationships across the responsible market areas, including the U.S. Department of War and foreign allies. The Director will pursue adjacent and complementary markets as appropriate, lead special projects, and business development activities within this market. The ideal candidate has proven experience and a strong network of relationships.
Responsibilities
Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities across the market areas.
Develop effective market and pursuit strategies that align with the company’s vision and potential.
Lead capture planning efforts, including development of win strategies, pricing recommendations, proposal leadership, and compliance with acquisition regulations.
Support writing and pricing activities within varied proposal efforts.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key government and industry decision‑makers to position the company for market growth.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels and functions within the company.
Monitor and assess U.S. defense spending trends, acquisition strategies, and program priorities relevant to the market areas.
Lead priority Division special projects, including internal and external investments and development efforts.
Represent the company at relevant conferences, trade shows, industry events, and technical forums to promote capabilities and expand industry presence.
Experience & Skills
10+ years of relevant experience in business development, acquisition, or program management leadership positions.
Fundamental understanding of radar systems, customers, and competitors.
Familiarity with the U.S. government acquisition and contracting processes, including the FAR and OTA’s.
Strong, active network across the defense industry; ability to access decision‑makers and influence requirements early in the acquisition lifecycle.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience briefing.
A DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
Ability to travel domestically on average 50% of the year.
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business or related field.
Preferred: Advanced Degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) in related field.
Location The location preference is Crane, Indiana, but other locations will be considered depending on the candidate’s experience.
