Job Description: The Master of Social Work Program at Weber State University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of MSW Field Education, beginning July 1, 2026. This position is an 11-month, full-time, non-tenure-track faculty appointment in a fairly new, fully accredited graduate social work program.
Job Duties: The position involves graduate teaching responsibilities within an advanced clinical social work practice framework, along with instruction in two classroom seminars per semester and 50% release time for other field-related activities. The MSW Field Director oversees placements of 90 graduate social work students per year, creates and maintains collaborative partnerships with agencies within the community, and serves as the MSW program’s liaison with field placement supervisors. These job duties are conducted with the assistance of the BSW /MSW Field Liaison.
Required Qualifications:
An MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
Five years of post-MSW practice experience (paid)
Eligibility for clinical social work license (LCSW) in the state of Utah
Supervisory experience in social service agencies
Demonstrated ability to teach in a variety of subject areas that are a part of the graduate social work curriculum, such as oppression, behavioral health, clinical practice theory, evidence-based clinical practice models, social work ethics, social welfare policy, and macro aspects of clinical practice
Preferred Qualifications:
A commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, and student development
An interest in creative program development
The ability to work in a collegial manner with social work faculty members and faculty from other disciplines across campus

The Master of Social Work (MSW ) Program is part of the Department of Social Work and Gerontology and is housed in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The program uses a harm-reduction framework and focuses on the development of advanced clinical social work practice skills, with particular attention to local and regional needs, and special emphasis on the growing Latinx community. The program is new and evolving and has a small but dynamic faculty.

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
