Position Summary & Responsibilities Diversified Energy Company is seeking a high-performing commercial professional to support and grow our crude oil, NGL, and CO₂ marketing portfolio.
This role is accountable for driving commercial outcomes across a multi-commodity, multi-basin asset base, combining hands‑on execution with portfolio optimisation, systems thinking, and strategic input. The position requires strong commercial judgement, the ability to navigate operational complexity, and a focus on improving margin across the value‑chain.
In addition to core commercial responsibilities, this role plays a key part in advancing how the business operates leveraging data, systems, and emerging AI capabilities to improve decision‑making, scalability, and execution efficiency.
The position is structured as a Senior Manager, with scope and leadership responsibilities aligned to the candidate’s experience and demonstrated capabilities.

Commercial Marketing & Execution
Manage the marketing and sale of crude oil, NGLs, and CO₂ across assigned assets
Negotiate and administer sales, transportation, and midstream agreements
Monitor market conditions and identify opportunities to optimise pricing and netbacks
Support both short‑term execution and longer‑term commercial strategy
Asset & Portfolio Optimisation
Identify and execute opportunities to enhance value through:
Contract structuring
Transportation and fractionation optimisation
Coordination with operations and midstream partners
Support development planning and asset‑level decision making
Evaluating and executing liquids‑in‑kind strategies where advantageous
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal stakeholders including: Operations, Engineering, Accounting, Contracts, and IT
Coordinate commercial activity with Midstream providers, purchasers, and external partners
Team Leadership (Experience-Dependent)
May lead a team of Marketing Representatives (Rep II level) responsible for asset‑level execution
Marketing Representative responsibilities include:
Managing customer relationships and commercial agreements
Negotiating crude, NGL, and related contracts
Coordinating with internal teams and external counterparties
Supporting invoicing, accruals, and reconciliation processes
Identifying commercial opportunities and supporting portfolio optimisation
Systems, Data, AI & Commercial Infrastructure Operate effectively within and help evolve commercial systems, including ETRM platforms (e.g., FIS Aligne, etc.), ensuring alignment between contracts, physical flows, and financial outcomes.
Identify and drive improvements in:
Contract‑to‑cash workflows
Data integrity and system connectivity
Commercial reporting and decision support tools
Lead or support the design, implementation, or enhancement of ETRM and commercial systems, including:
Contract capture and lifecycle management
Volume, pricing, and settlement integration
Workflow standardisation across commodities and assets
Develop and implement scalable workflows that improve efficiency, reduce manual processes, and enable faster commercial decision-making
Leverage and advance the use of:
AI tools, large language models, and agentic workflows to streamline commercial processes, enhance analysis, and improve execution
Partner with IT, analytics, and commercial teams to translate business needs into practical system and automation solutions
Contribute to building a scalable commercial infrastructure capable of supporting continued growth and acquisitions
Position Requirements Required
Experience in commodity marketing, trading, or commercial operations, with exposure to one or more of the following: Crude oil, NGLs, Natural gas / gas processing.
Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing commercial agreements
Understanding of midstream systems, pricing structures, and physical flows
Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and manage competing priorities
Preferred
Experience across multiple basins, ideally including the Western Anadarko, Appalachia, Permian, and Haynesville/Cotton Valley.
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast‑moving environments, making sound decisions with incomplete information.
Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to evaluate complex deal structures, identify and execute margin‑enhancing opportunities, and balance market dynamics and risks.
Proven track record of building and leveraging commercial relationships that drive tangible outcomes.
Experience participating in or leading ETRM implementation, upgrade, or redesign efforts.
Demonstrated ability to build or improve workflows using data, automation, or AI tools.
Strong systems orientation with the ability to bridge commercial needs and technical solutions
Prior leadership experience or demonstrated readiness to lead.
Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.
