Senior Civil Designer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil CAD Designer to support civil infrastructure projects with a strong emphasis on utility systems and site development. This role will utilize advanced Civil 3D capabilities to develop construction-ready plans while maintaining high standards of technical accuracy and consistency.
Key Responsibilities: Design & Production
Prepare detailed construction drawings for civil infrastructure projects, including utility systems, pump facilities, and treatment-related infrastructure.
Develop surfaces, grading plans, utility alignments, profiles, and plan & profile sheets using Civil 3D.
Translate engineering concepts into coordinated, buildable contract documents.
Support the preparation of site layouts, access roads, and related civil design components.
Quality & Documentation
Conduct quality control reviews to ensure compliance with project standards and drafting protocols.
Maintain consistency in graphical presentation and documentation across deliverables.
Incorporate design revisions efficiently and manage document updates throughout project lifecycles.
Track drawing changes and maintain organized project files.
Coordination & Technical Support
Collaborate with engineers and project teams to refine design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
Assist with preparation of permitting packages and supporting documentation.
Participate in internal design reviews and coordination meetings.
Process & Standards Development
Contribute to improving CAD workflows and production efficiencies.
Assist with maintaining and enhancing drafting standards, templates, and procedures.
Stay current with evolving Civil 3D tools and industry best practices.
Serve as a senior technical resource for assigned projects.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and drafting staff.
Support client-facing discussions by providing technical input as needed.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of Civil 3D experience focused on utility infrastructure and civil site design. Experience supporting land development projects is beneficial.
Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D
Experience preparing grading plans, utility layouts, and plan & profile sheets
Familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe products, and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of drafting standards and civil design criteria
