Position Summary A Worldwide Launch Excellence Director will lead the Corporate Marketing Team’s launch excellence and strategic innovation pillars, ensuring successful launches that enable growth of BD’s winning portfolio.
Responsibilities
Deliver business plan expected results on selected launches through a high standard of launch and marketing excellence.
Partner with BU teams on key needle‑mover launch processes and commercial excellence deliverables.
Create communities of practice across business units to share best practices for upcoming launches.
Participate in CER for key launch needle‑movers and support stage‑gate decisions.
Own a consistent and robust product launch process (GPDS) and governance.
Work with internal launch stakeholders to ensure launch readiness tasks are completed.
Coordinate Launch Readiness Review Assessments across launch brands with senior leadership.
Establish dashboards to manage reporting of key metrics and KPIs.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MA) preferred.
8+ years in pharma, biotech, medical devices, or healthcare with a strong marketing upstream background.
5+ years of global launch experience, leading at least 3 successful new launches.
2+ years leading complex projects requiring global, cross‑functional, and local alignment.
Strong ability to simplify complex concepts & “tell a story” orally and in writing.
Strong influencer without authority, leading through complex and ambiguous situations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree mandatory; MBA preferred, with 8‑10 years of marketing experience.
Demonstrated capabilities in launching with successful impact.
Demonstrated capabilities in marketing including upstream, downstream, market development; marketing excellence capabilities.
Experience with coaching.
Leadership Experiences
Experience leading teams, directly and indirectly, to achieve goals.
Strong coaching and influence skills with a growth mindset.
Ability to challenge the status quo and take initiative.
