Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has a hiring preference for qualified Alaska Native and American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93‑638 Indian Self Determination Act.

Position Location and Schedule This position is based in Anchorage, AK with an on‑site work schedule. The role will focus on project and team management for the Alaska Native Medical Center.

Summary Under limited supervision, manages communications and marketing projects by developing collateral and creating consortium‑wide communications in support of organizational goals and objectives that maintain consistent brand identity. Responsible for developing visual and descriptive collateral which maintains consistent brand identity, and for applying it to media such as websites, print, and publications.

Responsibilities

Drafting, managing, and disseminating external and internal communications, including presentations, newsletters, and white papers across numerous platforms.

Managing partner group projects by working with departments to determine project scope, communications plans, quantity, distribution plans, and budgetary impacts. Monitoring projects to ensure they remain on schedule and on budget.

Collaborating with project owners and Marketing team members on scheduling, work ownership, and sign‑offs for final product.

Managing writing and coordination of communications collateral as needed, ensuring correct and consistent dissemination of corporate messaging. Completing layout and design of simple marketing pieces and making copy edits to documents designed by the departments' graphic designers when needed.

Serving as a team lead and single point of contact in a busy organizational environment to prepare comprehensive communications plans for internal business partners, determine distribution plans and budget, develop and edit content, collaborate with internal Marketing colleagues on ancillary collateral development, attain approval for final product, and support final project launch.

Working with internal groups to ensure consistent brand identity and resolving issues related to brand identity and communications collateral.

Proactively seeking opportunities to communicate to employees and using sound editorial judgment to determine internal issues and news that would be of interest to them.

Providing input to communications calendars for all internal communications channels.

Managing and scheduling assigned staff; developing goals and priorities, assigning tasks and projects, developing staff skills and training plans, counseling, training, and coaching assigned staff, implementing corrective actions, and conducting performance evaluations.

Providing support for consortium advertising and/or promotional efforts.

Researching and developing content for publication of products and services; producing basic graphic sketches, designs, and copy layouts for content as needed.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of the Alaska Tribal Health System, ANTHC, and Alaska Native culture(s).

Knowledge of applicable technologies, including Adobe Creative Suite.

Knowledge of public relations and mass communication techniques.

Knowledge of business English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Skill in developing corporate communication materials.

Skill in oral and written communication.

Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.

Skill in presenting information to executive level management and external audiences.

Skill in project management, and assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and demands.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and to work as part of a team.

Ability to be self‑directed.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks concurrently and meet deadlines.

Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, from Marketing team members to ANTHC patients to executive level management to external audiences.

Minimum Education Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Progressively responsible professional work‑related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis for college education.

Minimum Experience Qualification

Non‑supervisory – Five (5) years of corporate communications and/or public relations experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

Supervisory – Two (2) years involving employee supervision.

Preferred Experience Qualification Experience in the Alaska Tribal Health System.

Additional Requirements Requires the use of personal vehicle, proof of insurance, and a valid Alaska driver’s license. May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule. May be called to work off‑shift in emergency situations. According to the needs of the organization, some incumbents in this job class may be required to obtain specific technical certifications or programming language skills.
