Senior Estimator - Heavy Civil

Metric Geo are working with a well-established, employee-owned heavy civil contractor seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex bid efforts across earthwork, transportation and infrastructure projects. This role owns the estimate from first review through handoff and plays a key role in winning future projects.

What You’ll Do

Lead the full estimating process on large heavy civil bids

Review plans, specs, reports, and site conditions

Develop detailed cost estimates for earthwork, utilities, materials, labor, equipment, and trucking

Analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing and select best-value options

Identify risks (soil, groundwater, logistics, schedule) and build mitigation strategies

Collaborate closely with operations and project teams to align means and methods

Support bid strategy, value engineering, and post-award handoff

What We’re Looking For

7+ years estimating heavy civil projects

Strong experience with mass earthwork, utilities and earthwork

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience

Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and MS Office

AGTEK and P6 experience preferred

Strong commercial judgment, communication, and leadership skills
