Mechanical Superintendent – O&M North Slope Construction
The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for safety, drawing interpretation, quality, subcontractor coordination, and the overall installation of mechanical work, piping and structural installation, tank cleaning, testing/FCO. The Superintendent will be responsible for having intimate knowledge of the scope(s) of work for the subcontracts under his/her jurisdiction, as well as a general knowledge of the overall scope of the project.
Essential Duties
Work with Scheduling team for development of detailed project schedules.
Coordinate development of detail schedules based on IFA/IFC work packages.
Develop and issue Field Installed Work Packages (FIWP's) for the work to be performed during the shutdown.
Support construction managers with negotiations and special estimating issues.
Provide on-site administrative and technical management of field related activities on construction project site.
Perform daily field reporting.
Ensure that the project maintains its established schedule.
Maintain clear communications with contract clients, their representatives, subcontractor(s), supervisors, craftsmen, fellow staff, and others as necessary.
Prepare work to be accomplished by gathering information and requirements.
Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
Maintain continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Contribute to team effort by maintaining established resource sharing cost saving efficiencies.
Supervise and provide guidance to craft personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Analyze preliminary and detail design documents including plans, specifications, and procedures as necessary to develop preliminary and detailed estimates and schedules for projects.
Required Experience
Have a High school diploma or GED equivalent.
A valid (U.S. issued) Driver's License is required.
A minimum of five (10) years' experience as a Mechanical Superintendent.
A minimum of 5 years supervising personnel.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing software programs such as Oracle, Passport, or SAP.
