Position Overview We are seeking a detail‑driven and collaborative Designer to join our Deep Blue division, supporting brands within the outdoor, fishing, and performance lifestyle space—including Guy Harvey. This role is ideal for a designer who excels in execution, accuracy, and product development, and thrives in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment. The Designer will support the Senior Design & Merchandising Manager in bringing seasonal concepts to life from initial design through production.
Design Development & Execution
Support seasonal design direction by translating concepts into commercially viable product.
Assist in developing silhouettes, colorways, and product details across categories.
Conduct research on trends, fabrics, and construction to inform design decision.
CAD Development & Design Communication
Create accurate 2D CADs (front/back) with clear construction and design intent.
Maintain and update CAD libraries with seasonal changes.
Develop line art for line sheets, presentations, and GTM tools.
Ensure all design assets clearly communicate intent prior to tech pack handoff.
Contract CADs & Production Accuracy
Own and execute contract CADs across all assigned styles.
Ensure alignment between CADs, tech packs, BOMs, and development updates.
Partner with Technical Design and Product Development to ensure accuracy prior to production.
Maintain consistency and precision across all design documentation.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Technical Design, Sourcing, and Product Development teams.
Provide clear design inputs for tech packs (CADs, trim direction, material intent).
Support PLM (BlueCherry) setup and style handoff processes.
Sample Development & Production Approvals
Track proto and development samples, ensuring alignment with design intent.
Participate in fittings and provide design feedback.
Review and approve production submittals (lab dips, strike‑offs, trims, artwork placement).
Ensure all approvals meet brand standards prior to bulk production.
Fabric, Trim & Material Support
Assist in fabric and trim research and seasonal library organization.
Support development of material boards and trim direction.
3D & Digital Design Support
Create 3D CADs and digital mockups for concept validation.
Support AI‑generated visuals and internal presentations.
Trend & Market Research
Conduct competitive research and comp shopping.
Identify opportunities in silhouette, construction, color, and graphics.
Who You Are
3–5+ years of experience in apparel design.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (CAD sketching is essential).
Experience with contract CADs and production workflows.
Understanding of garment construction, fabrics, and trims.
Experience working cross‑functionally with Technical Design and Product teams.
Familiarity with 3D design tools (Browzwear or similar) is a plus.
PLM experience (BlueCherry or similar) preferred.
Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Strong executor who takes ownership of their work.
Collaborative and able to work within established creative direction.
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
