Primary Focus : The Principal is responsible for all aspects of the educational program and environment of the school.

The Principal fosters a culture of strong relationships, meaningful learning, and community pride

while modeling and promoting Dragon Excellence Every Day.

Supervises:

Assistant Principal, Teachers, Support Services Staff (Instructional, Health, Facilities)

Essential Functions

Responsibilities

Recruit, recommend, supervise, and evaluate staff.

Conduct classroom observations and complete annual staff evaluations.

Foster a collaborative and supportive professional culture among staff.

Maintain a school climate that promotes respect, responsibility, and positive student behavior.

Ensure student behavior expectations are clearly communicated and consistently implemented.

Demonstrate understanding of the social, academic, emotional, and physical needs of students when making

decisions.

Promote restorative practices and positive behavior interventions.

Support the development of programs that enhance student engagement, belonging, and success.

Coordinate crisis response and student safety procedures.

Develop the master schedule to support student learning and effective staff deployment.

Maintain accurate school records and ensure student data is current and compliant with state and federal

requirements.

Implement and manage the school budget responsibly.

Supervise student activities, extracurricular programs, and co-curricular opportunities.

Ensure a safe and secure learning environment and assume responsibility for the safety of the school building.

Oversee building safety protocols and emergency preparedness procedures

Serve as the Public Agency Representative for students with special needs.

Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, district policies, and procedures.

Foster strong partnerships between the school, families, and the community.

Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and community members.

Support parents/guardians in active participation in their child's education.

Represent the school in district committees and community events.

Maintain satisfactory attendance.

Comply with NPCS policies.

Regularly check the assigned school email account and complete annual employee training.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, And Licensing Requirements

Master's Degree in Education

Valid Indiana Building Level Administrator License

Minimum Of Three (3) Years Of Successful Teaching Experience

Minimum of two (2) years of school leadership experience

Physical Demands

Ability to work at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various sizes and

configurations. Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws, codes, and rules,

policies, and other printed materials

Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels

Ability to lift and carry 75 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally. Ability to reach in all directions

Ability to stand for extended periods of time, Ability to operate office equipment

Ability to communicate so that others will be able to clearly understand a

typical conversation.
