Candidates
must have at least 8 years of experience as an Electrical Designer.
Candidates
must have recent (within the last 5 years) hands‑on experience using 2D MicroStation CAD.
Candidates
must be physically capable of performing field walkdowns, including walking long distances, climbing ladders, and working in active construction environments.

In this role, you will contribute to the design and execution of complex electrical systems that directly support national security and infrastructure. Your expertise will help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient engineering solutions in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop designs for complex electrical engineering systems and prepare detailed drawings and technical reports
Perform technical reviews of design documents, specifications, and construction procedures
Prepare construction installation specifications, procurement documentation, and bid evaluations
Resolve design discrepancies and provide cost‑effective engineering solutions
Initiate and manage Design Change Forms and coordinate with subcontractors and stakeholders
Provide engineering support to construction activities, including inspections and issue resolution
Review and disposition Nonconformance Reports and Field Problem Memos
Perform field walkdowns and site evaluations to ensure design compliance and constructability
Apply engineering principles to solve advanced technical challenges and improve processes
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
Minimum Qualifications
In‑depth knowledge of engineering systems, materials, construction methods, and relevant software tools
Demonstrated experience applying advanced engineering principles to solve field and design issues
Working knowledge of electrical design codes and standards: IEC, NEC, NFPA, NEMA, IEEE, OSHA
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation
Ability to support construction environments and collaborate across engineering and field teams
Ability to obtain and maintain DOE “Q” clearance
Desired Skills
Previous experience supporting DOE facilities or Savannah River Site (SRS) operations
Prior DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past 2 years
Familiarity with SRS engineering processes and procedures
Formal training in Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Education and Experience Requirements
Associate’s degree in a technical discipline
and
10–12 years of relevant experience
OR
12–16 years of practical, hands‑on experience in lieu of a degree
Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Electrical Designer
Recent (within 5 years) experience with 2D MicroStation CAD required
Contract Duration: 1 year with two optional 1‑year extensions (not guaranteed)
Annual Hours: 2080 straight time / 800 overtime (estimated)
Overtime may be required based on project needs
Annual option years include a 3.5% escalation
