Job Duties And Responsibilities
Review the work of the Night Audit Staff, General Cashier, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Review daily processing of cash drops and preparation of deposits
Assist with monthly house bank audits and distributions
Verify coding of accounts payable invoices, review status of accounts receivables, and review daily deposits
Assist in monthly account reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
Assist with research on billing issues
Assist with month‑end tasks, run and electronically save standard month‑end owner reports
Ensure all reports are kept in storage in compliance with the hotel's established retention period
Provide clerical support to Accounting Management when required
Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
Education And Experience
High School or equivalent education required
Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in Accounting/Finance or Business Education
Three plus years of hotel accounting experience preferred, preferably in a hotel environment
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Month‑end close process
Prepared/analyzed DEPARTMENTAL P&Ls and assisted the Director of Finance with preparing all financial statements for submission to the Corporate Office and Owners
Manage/Assist Accounts Payable, Income Audit, and credit
Manage a team of two and the accounting department to run the daily operations
Researching and reconciling the balance sheet accounts
Help the Director of Finance with corporate, Asset Management, and owner requests
Proficient in Excel
Spot check all inventories during Month‑end
In charge of the Accounting Department during the Director of Finance's absence
