Our client, a well-known regional bank, is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Credit Underwriter to support portfolio growth and new originations.
Responsibilities
Underwrite commercial real estate credit requests, including new loans, renewals, and modifications Analyze borrower financial statements, guarantor strength, rent rolls, operating statements, and cash flow Assess property fundamentals, market conditions, collateral value, and risk structure Prepare clear, well-supported credit memoranda with risk identification and mitigants Review third‑party reports (appraisals, environmental, engineering, market studies) Ensure compliance with bank credit policy, regulatory standards, and internal guidelines Partner with relationship managers, portfolio managers, and credit leadership throughout the deal lifecycle Monitor portfolio performance and support ongoing credit administration as needed Requirements
3–8+ years of commercial real estate credit underwriting experience at a bank or similar institution Experience underwriting multiple CRE asset classes (e.g., office, industrial, retail, multifamily, mixed‑use) Strong financial analysis and cash flow modeling skills Solid understanding of loan structures, covenants, and risk rating methodologies Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field (required)
