Job Summary
This position is located in the Government Service Centers and is limited to Support Services Employees.
Provides front line customer service to the public in person and on the telephone
Utilizes computer applications to research information such as bill amounts, customer account histories, etc.
Determines type of business license to be sold; calculates & collects fees
Collects property tax payments and calculates late fees
Collects water bill payments and answers general inquiries
Assists customers with requests for help or information
Handles cash and accountable items to include balancing transaction logs & cash drawer
Prepares homestead exemptions and other property tax applications
Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED; supplemented by four or more years progressively responsible and knowledgeable work experience in customer service functions involving the receipt and accounting of cash/monies; additional college level education is preferred and may substitute for a portion of the required experience; work experience must demonstrate leadership skills and general computer literacy; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience.
Must be willing to work at either one of the Service Centers
Good communication & customer service skills; ability to deal effectively with the public
Knowledge of county services and functions preferred
Supplemental Information Salary Grade: 45
Status: Non-Exempt
Eligible for health and dental coverage, retirement plan, life insurance, long term disability insurance, deferred compensation, ten paid holidays per year, annual leave accrual after 6 months of employment, and thirteen days sick leave per year.*
