Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Provide proactive asset management and timely resolutions of an assigned portfolio of distressed commercial real estate mortgage loans.

Use negotiation and analytical skills to comprehend complex loan documents, partnership documents, and evaluation of collateral performance and resolution alternatives.

Responsible for the due diligence and underwriting of loans and collateral securing potential B-piece acquisitions.

Work with a portfolio of small to moderately-sized loans.

Engage and interact with third-party consultants including attorneys, receivers, management, companies, appraisers, environmental engineers, structural engineers, and surveyors.

Participation in special projects and travel are required.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required

Four (4) year college degree from an accredited university in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or law is required.

Five (5) years of experience in commercial real estate loan resolutions.

Understanding of complex loan and loan servicing agreements.

Have a thorough understanding of and compliance with the governing loan documents, loan servicing agreements, REMIC regulations, investor reporting requirements, and state and federal laws governing foreclosures, receivership actions, and bankruptcies.

Experience in managing commercial real estate loans secured by various income-producing property types such as multifamily, retail, office, industrial, and hospitality properties.

Sound knowledge of foreclosure and bankruptcy laws.

Strong analytical, negotiation, communication (written and verbal), financial and computer skills.
