
Inside Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Inside Sales Engineer to play a critical role in a two-person team managing a multi-state territory. This position sits at the intersection of engineering, customer support, and commercial execution.
You will work directly with customers to understand application requirements, develop technical solutions, and deliver timely, accurate quotations for custom-engineered heating, temperature sensing, and control products. Success in this role requires strong technical aptitude, responsiveness, and the ability to translate customer needs into practical, value-driven solutions.
This is a high-impact role with direct influence on revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term account development.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Technical Sales
Alongside your Outside Sales Engineer partner, serve as the primary day-to-day contact for customers, responding to phone and email inquiries with urgency and professionalism Interpret customer requirements (drawings, specifications, application conditions) and develop appropriate product recommendations Prepare accurate and timely quotations aligned with customer needs and company capabilities Provide technical guidance that differentiates our solutions and strengthens customer confidence Order Management & Execution
Process customer purchase orders and enter sales orders accurately into the system Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to ensure orders are executed correctly and delivered on time Proactively communicate order status, lead times, and any issues to customers Territory & Pipeline Development
Partner with the Outside Sales Engineer to execute territory strategy and achieve revenue targets Actively manage and develop a pipeline of opportunities using a defined sales process Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and through inbound inquiries Application Engineering & Product Expertise
Develop strong product and application knowledge across industrial heating technologies Apply engineering fundamentals to support diverse applications across multiple industries Help customers solve performance, reliability, and cost challenges through tailored solutions Qualifications
Technical & Professional Skills
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (materials, heat transfer fundamentals, basic electrical principles) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, including tolerances Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Systems & Tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience with CRM systems required; ERP experience preferred CAD familiarity is a plus Core Competencies
Customer-focused mindset with a drive to understand and solve customer problems Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership Collaborative approach with cross-functional teams Eagerness to learn and expand technical and commercial capabilities Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) preferred 2–5+ years of experience in technical sales, inside sales, or application engineering (industrial products preferred) Demonstrated ability to support or drive revenue growth in a sales or sales support role
