National leader in E&S Property Program Business is seeking a top-notch Senior Property Underwriter with experience handling Habitational accounts and the ability to generate new business through the Retail Brokerage Channel. Ideally, a person will be based in a Northeast location, ideally in Boston, Philadelphia, or New Jersey.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of high-level E&S Property (Habitational)underwriting experience; Wholesale or Program experience preferred but open to those with strong carrier underwriting backgrounds as well. Bachelor's degree, strong preference for a degree with a field-related major/concentration Training and development of staff Excellent organizational and communication skills, and ability to multitask Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Willingness to travel, to visit the Retain Agency base, primarily on the West Coast. Responsibilities
P&L accountability for premium, profitability, growth, and retention results within assigned territory. Overseeing the underwriting quality standards of employees. Includes ensuring appropriate file documentation is being maintained relating to the final underwriting decision. Partners with teams to develop a plan for managing and prospecting business writing. Manages execution of underwriting strategies and holds the team accountable for implementation. Develops and executes effective strategies to generate profitable business growth. Collaborates with the branch, peers, and E&S Property management on new business and retention opportunities. Ownership of broker/agency relationships, including delivering high-level expectations. Leads and/or participates in agency analysis and planning. Develops and executes an effective agency strategy to grow the business. Gathers pertinent competitive information to assist in product development recommendations.
