We are seeking a Proposal Technical Editor/Writer to support our capture and proposal efforts for government contracts in the aerospace and defense sector. This position may be filled at either the mid‑level or senior level based on the selected candidate’s background, experience, and demonstrated capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical writing skills, experience supporting U.S. government contracts proposal development, and the ability to translate complex engineering and programmatic concepts into clear, compelling, and compliant narrative.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, edit, and finalize technical content for complex government proposals, including volumes such as Technical Approach, Management, Past Performance, Systems Engineering, and compliance matrices
Collaborate closely with capture teams, proposal managers, and technical SMEs to gather and interpret technical information
Ensure strict compliance with RFI/RFP/RFQ/OTA/IDIQ requirements and evaluation criteria
Organize and maintain proposal documentation, including outlines, compliance matrices, templates, and version control
Support storyboarding, win theme development, and proposal strategy to highlight differentiators and strengthen evaluation positioning
Assist in production and timely submission of complete, high‑quality proposals
Lead proposal sections from outline through final delivery, driving structure, clarity, and technical positioning
Mentor mid‑level or junior writers, support formal proposal reviews, and contribute to process improvements and best practice development
Manage deadlines, content repositories, and cross‑functional coordination for assigned proposal volumes
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Engineering, Science, or related field
3+ years of experience in technical writing or proposal development within the aerospace, defense, or government contracting environment, including experience leading proposal sections or major volumes
Familiarity with U.S. government acquisition processes, including FAR/DFARS, OTAs, and FFP contract structures
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical information
Proficiency with collaborative proposal tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred:
Knowledge of satellite systems, spacecraft components, payloads, or space mission operations
Experience contributing to high‑value or prime government proposal wins
Familiarity with proposal automation or content management systems
Strong attention to detail, organization, and content accuracy
Strategic mindset with the ability to shape narratives that resonate with customer priorities
Experience coaching teams, coordinating across disciplines, or driving proposal content strategy
Active TS/SCI clearance
