
Director of Inventory Management

The Director of Inventory Planning and Control is responsible for defining, overseeing and managing inventory levels, and demand forecasting for 30 manufacturing plants nationwide. This role ensures optimal inventory levels are maintained to meet production needs while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency. Position does not include materials sourcing, only planning & forecasting and some resource management and negotiation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels. Monitor and analyze inventory turnover rates and make adjustments as necessary. Ensure accurate records of inventory levels, location, and movements. Demand Forecasting
Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Marketing teams to forecast demand accurately. Utilize historical data and market trends to predict future needs. Mold/Tooling Coordination
Manage and track network of tooling across the 30 plants to ensure production schedules are met. Maintain fleet of molds, track the usage and replace as needed. Manage mold/tooling suppliers and timing of orders. Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce waste. Utilize technology and inventory management software to streamline operations. Lead and mentor the inventory management team, providing guidance and support for professional development. Reporting and Analysis
Prepare and present inventory performance reports to senior management. Analyze inventory data to identify trends and inform decision-making. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in inventory management or supply chain within the manufacturing sector, with concrete or similar materials experience preferred. Experience with multiple sites Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory management and ERP software. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.
