Overview

SolComms, an award-winning integrated communications agency for startups and scale-ups at the intersection of corporate and consumer communications, is seeking a Human Resources Director to help shape and scale our people operations. This newly created role will work closely with senior management to build a thriving workplace culture, attract top talent, and support the growth and development of our team. Champion and evolve the company's culture, values, and employee experience Develop and implement initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organization Serve as a trusted resource and advisor to employees and leadership on all HR-related matters Assist with organizing employee engagement programs, team-building activities, and recognition efforts Talent Acquisition & Retention

Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, from job posting to offer letter Partner with department heads to identify hiring needs and build a strong talent pipeline Develop competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain top talent Lead onboarding programs that set new hires up for success from day one Performance & Development

Design and manage performance review processes and goal-setting frameworks Identify learning and development opportunities to support employee growth and career progression Coach and support managers on performance management, feedback, and team development Create clear career pathing frameworks across all departments HR Operations & Compliance

Oversee all HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook documentation Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Manage HRIS systems and maintain accurate employee records Oversee benefits administration, payroll coordination, and open enrollment processes Serve as a strategic partner to the executive team on organizational planning and workforce strategy Analyze HR metrics and data to inform decision-making and identify areas for improvement Lead and mentor any HR support staff or coordinators What We're Looking For

7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level role Prior experience in a public relations, marketing, media, or creative agency environment is strongly preferred Deep knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements Proven ability to build and maintain a positive and inclusive workplace culture Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with employees A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification a plus Here's what you'll get
