Position Summary
Catalent’s Winchester location is the flagship US manufacturing location for large scale oral dose forms, with integrated analytical and development services. With 28 years of expertise in product development, technology transfers and commercial manufacturing, and roots in industry-leading Glatt technology.
The Director, Human Resources is the senior HR leader for the site and a core member of the Site Leadership Team, accountable for a comprehensive people strategy that enables safe, compliant, right first time manufacturing and customer service levels in a fast paced CDMO environment. The role is responsible for building a succession ready talent pipeline, providing support to the General Manager and Site Leadership Team, and ensures disciplined execution across workforce planning, talent acquisition, performance, rewards, employee relations, culture, and change leadership.
This position will report directly to the Senior Director, Pharma & Consumer Health, North America and have a dotted line (matrixed) reporting to the site General Manager.
Responsibilities
Own the site People Strategy end to end; translate business goals into a pragmatic HR roadmap with clear milestones and metrics.
Embed Catalent leadership behaviors and operating norms; raise the bar on performance, accountability, and collaboration across the matrix.
Build and maintain succession plans for all SLT and critical roles; maintain talent slates with targeted development plans.
Serve as trusted advisor to the GM and Site Leadership Team on organizational design, leadership effectiveness, and conflict resolution; facilitate leadership norms to drive alignment and high trust, high accountability execution.
Improve engagement throughout the Site by developing leadership behaviors that engage, inspire, coach & develop.
Develop and direct the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures, plans, programs and budgets dealing with the people/HR activities to meet the business plan and competitive strategy of the business units supported in a cost‑effective manner.
Manage, lead, and develop the Site Human Resources team(s) and provide support to leaders across the facility.
Serve as the site’s chief spokesperson with outside agencies/organizations related to its employees (e.g., EEOC, DOL, legal counsel, etc.) & ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to employees and their relationship with their employer.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS in relevant discipline (e.g., HR, I-O Psychology, Business or equivalent) required; Masters degree preferred.
10+ years broad and progressive experience in human resources with 3-5 years in a management role within large organizations and progressive HR systems and processes; Manufacturing industry experience is strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge in HR management concepts with a strong consultative, but results‑oriented approach.
Understanding of pharmaceutical industry and contract services business issues and trends.
Analytical ability, both interpersonal and issue‑related; good judgment and ethics; professional presence and demeanor; strong interpersonal skills and political savvy.
Excellent negotiation and contracting skills. Ability to “get the job done” and take responsibility for results without direct authority. Ability to coordinate, facilitate and organize resources.
