Overview
Nassau BOCES is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking school administrator to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs (RSIP). The Director will support and guide the daily operations of Nassau BOCES CTE programs and related instructional services. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to innovative career‑connected learning, workforce development, and regional collaboration, aligning programs with New York State Education Department (NYSED) CTE requirements and the NY Inspires initiative.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the daily operations of Nassau BOCES CTE programs, including: Joseph M. Barry Career & Technical Education Center
Gerald Claps Technical Center
Long Island High School for the Arts (LIHSA)
In‑district CTE programs
Adult Education programs (English as a New Language (ENL) and CTE services)
Career Employment Center
Regional Summer School
Twilight Alternative High School Programs
Providing leadership, guidance, and support to RSIP administrators, faculty, and staff
Ensuring programs align with NYSED Career and Technical Education program approval requirements, including industry‑recognized credentials, technical assessments, work‑based learning opportunities, and post‑secondary articulation agreements
Supporting the implementation of NY Inspires priorities, including strengthening career pathways, experiential learning opportunities, and alignment with the New York State Portrait of a Graduate
Assisting in the development, writing, and management of state, federal, and private grants, including CTE and workforce development initiatives
Serving as a liaison with Nassau BOCES departments including Special Education, Business Services, Human Resources, Facilities, and Technology Services
Assisting with required NYSED reporting and regulatory compliance, including Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR), Dignity for All Students Act (DASA), Violent and Disruptive Incident Report (VADIR), and student data reporting
Overseeing departmental budget development, program planning, and financial management
Developing partnerships with business, industry, higher education institutions, and workforce organizations to expand career‑connected learning opportunities for students
Serving as a liaison with the Nassau BOCES component school districts, including collaboration with Middle and High School CTE Pathways
Requirements
NYSED Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)
Experience as a building or district administrator
Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Knowledge of CTE programs and Perkins V requirements is preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Salary As per salary schedule
