Overview
GBM Strategy, Investments and Partnerships (GBM SIP) is responsible for driving cross-asset business development and strategy to maintain the Global Banking & Markets (GBM) division's market-leading position as a client-centric, digital-first business. The team identifies and executes multi-year growth opportunities, leads inorganic growth through partnerships, investments and acquisitions focused on trading capabilities and markets technologies, and drives commercial outcomes through client partnerships on market structure and digital priorities. Role Description
We are looking to hire an Analyst on the GBM Strategy, Investments and Partnerships team with a focus on principal strategic investments and acquisitions. With a global mandate, the GBM SIP team operates across GBM and drives strategic value through investments in financial technology, capital markets software, digital assets, market infrastructure, wealth tech, and AI/ML. The team operates across the investment lifecycle from sourcing to exit and actively manages existing investments. Position Scope and Responsibilities
Develop Investment Theses
Partner with divisional leadership and heads of GBM businesses around strategic business priorities Conduct market and industry analysis to identify potential strategic opportunities Prepare presentations on relevant industry trends and share market intelligence to colleagues and clients
Source and Execute Investments
Source, screen and track potential opportunities & develop investment pipeline Leverage and develop venture ecosystem relationships Recommend and communicate theses to investment sponsor / business team Assist with diligence processes, including: business, financial, legal, tech, reputational Manage investment committee process and deal execution including oversight of business and legal negotiation
Portfolio Company Support & Commercialization
Monitor and manage portfolio companies Identify lifecycle opportunities (e.g., follow-on investments, exits) Support quarterly valuation process and monitoring of investment and portfolio key performance metrics Assist GS representatives to portfolio company Boards
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate the following: 1-2 years of working experience in financial markets, ideally with a background in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, and/or fintech Proven financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills Genuine interest in technology and capital markets, and exhibits intellectual curiosity Track record of thinking strategically, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and executing under tight deadlines Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative and team oriented Exceptional communication skills - verbal and written Bachelor's degree required, ideally in finance, economics or related fields Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $110000-$125000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end. Benefits
