Overview The Director of Chain Accounts will direct the sale of products and services to assigned chain accounts through Key Account Managers and District Managers. This role will control the execution of sales plans and sales promotions to ensure the achievement of assigned sales goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Ensure the attainment of sales and profit goals for assigned chain accounts by evaluating vendor/partner relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and addressing gaps in current sales/service levels.

Supervise assigned accounts to maximize sales and profits; coach, direct, and counsel team members on performance, define expectations, and monitor progress.

Conduct team meetings with Chain and District Managers; introduce new products and services to chain buyers; present new promotions/programs; provide summaries of current and projected sales activity; produce regular and special reports detailing performance relative to sales objectives.

Conduct regular business reviews with chain buyers and recommend opportunities for improvement.

Meet with Spirit VPs regularly to review results and prioritize selling initiatives.

Recommend to chain buyers products by size for in‑store and newspaper advertising support.

Propose and remedy pricing on key product/size to achieve sales objectives with chain retailers.

Recommend inventory levels necessary to support unusual chain sales plans.

Collaborate with Trade Development/Category Management to ensure brands receive adequate shelf and merchandising space; seek opportunities to improve positioning of key brands based on trends and volume.

Work with Operations to establish adequate service levels for customers and set reasonable expectations for SGWS; ensure effective internal alignment on delivery timing.

Monitor EDI buys to ensure goods are billed correctly; maintain proper material numbers to prevent out‑of‑stock situations; apply appropriate discounts to minimize credit requests; reconcile credits timely.

Execute and compile a pricing book for the customer each month as requested.

Investigate and implement SGWS opportunities for preferred brands.

Travel 40%–60% by automobile, including driving up to 100 miles and periodic out‑of‑state trips.

Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and related experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational, multi‑tasking, and time‑management skills.

Experience selling alcoholic beverages or grocery products at the retail level.

Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.

Ability to secure and maintain auto‑liability insurance in accordance with state laws.

Ability to secure and maintain a state sales permit in accordance with state laws.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Demands

Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer or mobile device.

Physical demands may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.

May require occasional lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 25 lbs.
