Job Description The P2P & Engagement Lead Gastroenterology drives international peer‑to‑peer engagement strategy and scientific influencer activation across AbbVie’s global markets. This role ensures AbbVie’s leadership in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) through impactful medical‑commercial partnerships, data‑driven engagement models, and HCP experience excellence. As a member of the International Commercial Team, the role bridges global marketing, in‑field excellence, and scientific engagement, ensuring AbbVie’s messages are delivered credibly, compliantly, and consistently across markets.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Commercial Leadership

Define and lead the international P2P & HCP engagement strategy for AbbVie’s Gastroenterology portfolio.

Partner with Area and Affiliate teams to translate global strategies into localized, high‑impact engagement programs.

Champion AbbVie’s patient‑centric vision, ensuring P2P initiatives drive meaningful clinical dialogue and adoption.

Lead planning of International Expert Forums, symposia, and advisory initiatives that reinforce AbbVie’s scientific leadership.

Peer‑to‑Peer Excellence

Develop and standardize speaker and KOL engagement frameworks across markets.

Oversee training and development of speakers and scientific advocates, ensuring content is data‑driven and compliant.

Leverage digital, hybrid, and in‑person formats to expand reach and engagement quality.

Evaluate program effectiveness through performance dashboards, KPIs, and feedback analytics.

Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy

Build strong relationships with regional KOLs, professional societies, and patient organizations to amplify AbbVie’s credibility.

Partner with Medical Affairs and Market Access to align engagement strategy with evolving scientific and payer landscapes.

Drive collaboration between cross‑functional international teams to ensure message consistency and shared learning.

Commercial & Market Impact

Align P2P and engagement initiatives with brand objectives, launches, and lifecycle priorities.

Partner with commercial teams to identify emerging influencers and new engagement opportunities in each market.

Ensure all engagements are executed in line with AbbVie’s compliance and governance standards.

Data, Insights & Innovation

Use analytics and field insights to continuously refine HCP engagement strategies.

Identify trends in scientific adoption, digital engagement, and peer influence networks.

Drive innovation in engagement models including virtual advisory boards, on‑demand education, and omnichannel learning.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; MBA or MSc preferred.

5+ years of commercial experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, ideally in Gastroenterology or Immunology.

Proven record in HCP engagement, peer‑to‑peer programs, and brand or customer excellence leadership.

Deep understanding of IBD market dynamics, treatment landscape, and AbbVie’s competitive positioning.

Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross‑functional influence skills.

Ability to travel internationally (~40%).

Fluent in English; other languages are an asset.
