Tax Senior
Faycroft Search, San Diego, CA, United States
Most tax roles at this level look the same on paper.
This one is different in ways that tend to matter to people who've been in public accounting long enough to know the difference.
You're a CPA (or very close) with 3-5 years in public accounting. You're comfortable working across individual and entity returns (1040s, 1065s, 1120s) and you've started to build real technical judgment, not just following processes.
You want to keep developing. You want a firm where the partners are accessible, the work is varied, and the culture is something people actually mention when you ask why they stay.
The role:
Full-cycle tax compliance across individuals and entities
Tax projections, planning work, and technical research - not just return preparation
Paperless workflow, Lacerte, BNA Tax Planner, QuickBooks
Room to grow into planning and advisory work as you develop
The firm: Independent, not PE-backed. Established client base with real complexity - HNW individuals, closely held businesses, and everything in between. The kind of firm where you know your clients and your partners know your name.
The package:
Employer funded medical and dental
401(k) with employer contribution + profit sharing
CPA license and professional membership reimbursed
PTO
If this sounds like the right next move, send me a message, drop a connection request or apply directly. Happy to share more.
Not quite the right fit, but exploring what's out there? Get in touch anyway.
We work with a range of independent CPA firms across California (San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Sacramento, LA) and we're regularly placing at Senior Associate, Manager and Senior Manager level across tax disciplines.
Reach out to Louis Fayers or Sam Croft @ Faycroft Search to learn more.
