Position Overview The Tax Senior Advisor plays a key role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse client base. This position is responsible for managing complex tax engagements, reviewing work prepared by staff, and providing proactive guidance to clients. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical tax knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced public accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
Conduct tax research and provide clients with clear, well-supported recommendations.
Assist in tax planning, projections, and strategies to minimize client tax liabilities.
Review work completed by staff accountants and provide constructive feedback.
Manage multiple engagements, timelines, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax requirements, filing deadlines, and engagement updates.
Maintain current knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Support senior leadership in identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and service offerings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
CPA license required or actively pursuing.
3–5+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
Proficiency with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, ProSystem fx, or similar) and Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
