Electrical Designer Actalent – Whitmore Lake, MI.

Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical schematics and panel layouts using EPLAN, adhering to relevant standards and specifications.

Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into automation equipment.

Incorporate GM-specific requirements, such as load out configurations and 24v control logic, into design documentation.

Select and specify electrical components, including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and safety devices.

Support the build and debug phases of automation equipment, providing troubleshooting and design updates as necessary.

Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and customer specifications.

Maintain accurate documentation and revision control throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in electrical design, including controls and hardware design.

Experience with EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical for full panel design.

Familiarity with GM standards or certifications.

Knowledge of PLC-based systems and electrical engineering principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of experience in full panel design.

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN is required.

GM certifications or standards are highly advantageous.

Work Environment This role is based in an office environment with an attached plant floor where equipment is built and tested, offering long‑term opportunities to work on GM automation projects and potential future Ford projects.

Job Type & Location Contract to Hire, Whitmore Lake, MI. Fully onsite.

Pay and Benefits Pay range: $38.00 – $51.00/hr.
