As an Experienced Soft Goods Accessories Designer, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and developing a wide range of soft goods accessories, including but not limited to backpacks, cosmetic bags, handbags, and more. Your creativity, attention to detail, and passion for fashion will be crucial in shaping our brand’s identity and ensuring our products resonate with our target audience. Key Responsibilities
Conceptualization and Design: Collaborate with the design team to develop innovative and trend-setting accessory designs that cater to the preferences of women, teens, tweens, and young adults. Market Research: Stay updated on current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to inform your design decisions. Material Selection: Identify and source appropriate materials, fabrics, and hardware to ensure the quality, durability, and functionality of each accessory. Technical Drawings: Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and prototypes to guide the production process and communicate design concepts to manufacturers. Pattern Development: Work closely with patternmakers and sample makers to develop accurate patterns and prototypes, making adjustments as necessary. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality control checks on samples and finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and brand standards. Cost Management: Collaborate with the production team to optimize designs for cost efficiency without compromising on quality. Trend Forecasting: Continuously research and forecast fashion and accessory trends to inform future design directions and product development. Presentation: Prepare visually appealing presentations, mood boards, and design portfolios to communicate your design concepts effectively to the team and stakeholders. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and production, to ensure the successful launch and promotion of new accessory collections. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field. Proven experience as an Accessories Designer specializing in soft goods. A strong portfolio showcasing your work in soft goods design for women, teens, tweens, and young adults. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs. Knowledge of materials, textiles, and manufacturing processes. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to changing fashion trends and consumer preferences. Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Salary $90,000
