
Real Estate Commercial Appraiser

The Real Estate Assessments Office of Prince William County government is searching for a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser in Woodbridge, Virginia. This is one of several positions that trains and performs professional work in the appraisal of data centers for assessment purposes.
About This Role Under the direct guidance of a supervisor, incumbents train in assessment best practices and methodologies and determine the market value of data center real property and vacant land for county taxation purposes. Responsibilities include: conducting research for the valuation of data center properties and vacant data center land; evaluating income and expense surveys and applying the results to the valuation of improved data center properties; conducting onsite inspections to review and verify existing data and new constructions/permits; communicating with and educating taxpayers. Defending assessments before property owners, tax representatives, appeals board, and circuit court.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Requirements High school diploma or G.E.D. and 5 years of related Commercial Real Estate assessment experience. Must also have a valid driver’s license.
Preferences The successful candidate will have a 4-year college degree in the analytical field. They will be proficient with MS Office products and have excellent analytical skills. They will be detail-oriented, accurate, and meticulous. They will be able to function independently and manage their time effectively with minimal supervision. The candidate must also possess excellent communication and customer service skills as they will need patience and tact to deal with taxpayers. An appraiser designation (RES, CAE, MAI) is preferred.

Work Schedule Monday through Friday 8-4:30 or 8:30-5:00 in our Woodbridge office.
Hiring Salary Range $70,921.50 - $97,968.00 Annually
