Job Overview Join our Commercial Projects team and help build some of Maine’s most recognizable buildings across housing, hospitality, higher education, healthcare, and other dynamic sectors.

As a Superintendent, you will lead all on-site construction activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution from groundbreaking through completion. You’ll be responsible for maintaining continuous progress by coordinating labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors while upholding project schedules and standards.

Working closely with a Project Manager, you’ll form a strong leadership team focused on delivering successful outcomes. You’ll also build and maintain positive relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors, proactively addressing challenges to keep projects moving forward.

Job Responsibilities

Lead all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Coordinate and manage subcontractors, labor, materials, and equipment to maintain efficient jobsite operations.

Develop and maintain short-term schedules and look-ahead plans to drive consistent progress that aligns with the project master schedule.

Monitor daily jobsite activities and proactively identify and resolve issues impacting schedule, safety, or quality.

Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.

Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors and all other project stakeholders.

Conduct and lead jobsite meetings, including subcontractor coordination and safety meetings.

Ensure work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.

Maintain accurate and timely jobsite documentation, including daily reports and field updates.

Support project closeout by ensuring completion of punch lists and final inspections.

Education, Experience, And Skills

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in construction or a related field (or equivalent experience).

7-10 years of commercial construction field experience in a supervisory role, including projects ranging from $3M–$25M.

Strong knowledge of the full construction process from ground-breaking to completion.

Proven ability to lead field teams and manage subcontractors to achieve project goals.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.

Ability to anticipate and resolve construction challenges to keep projects on track.

Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements, and construction safety standards.

Experience with construction technology and software (Procore, Sage Timberline, Microsoft Office, MS Project preferred).
