General Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing HVAC systems that meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements for residential new construction projects across the continental United States. Recent Engineering or Technical graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have HVAC experience with AutoCAD.
Key Responsibilities
System Design – Develop comprehensive HVAC system designs using Right Suite Universal software, perform heating and cooling load calculations for residential homes across diverse U.S. geographies, size and select appropriate HVAC equipment in accordance with ACCA Manual S, and assist in achieving target duct testing volumes within designs.
Code Compliance – Ensure all HVAC designs comply with local, state, and national building codes and standards, maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies, and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of materials and field applications.
Collaboration – Work closely with builders, engineers, and project teams to integrate HVAC systems into building designs, utilize AutoCAD and participate in clash detection processes, and coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines to ensure seamless system integration.
Technical Documentation – Prepare accurate technical drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software, and create and maintain detailed project documentation, including design calculations and equipment schedules.
Energy Efficiency – Implement energy‑efficient and sustainable HVAC design solutions, evaluate and recommend innovative technologies to improve performance and reduce energy consumption.
Project Management & Estimating – Assist with project bidding and ensure timely completion of design deliverables, provide technical support during construction phases, interpret plans, specifications, and take‑offs to identify project scope, perform material, equipment, and labor take‑offs using estimating software, prepare project proposals as directed, and maintain and update bid templates within estimating software.
Minimum Education
College degree

Specific Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Design, or a related field preferred.
Recent Engineering or Technical graduates preferred, or candidates with HVAC experience using AutoCAD.
Proven experience as an HVAC Designer, preferably in new residential construction.
Proficiency in Right Suite Universal and AutoCAD (including relevant plugins).
Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail‑oriented with a commitment to high‑quality work.
Location Must be located in Texas.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer; ability to view and interpret detailed drawings and technical documents.
Occasional lifting and carrying of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.
Occasional site visits requiring standing, walking, climbing stairs, and navigating active construction environments.
Manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and related office tools.
Compensation
Salary will be determined based on experience, skill set, and role level (DOE).
