
Continuous Improvement Lead

The CI Leader will lead the enterprise-wide Continuous Improvement / LEAN implementation at the Stickley case goods plant in Manlius, NY. This includes enhancing Daily Management process in factory, value stream mapping to redesign production flow, drive batch to flow conversion, drive improved factory efficiencies and material & product flow, reduce production waste, improve first pass yield (FPY), implement visual controls and 6S program as well as support strategy deployment and assist in deployment of Daily Management process across commercial functions.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and maintain overall site Hoshin / X-Matrix that aligns with corporate goals
Implement 6S / Visual Management
Plan and facilitate Kaizen events
Facilitate site Value Stream Mapping and batch to flow conversion
Function as site trainer in rolling out LEAN fundamentals
Assist in development of leadership standard work, including A3 thinking and problem solving.
Maintain site-wide continuous improvement hopper and report project status and results
Required Experience / Essential Skills
7-10 years of experience leading Continuous Improvement / LEAN initiatives, including implementing pull systems, single piece flow or batch to flow conversion in high mix environment
Solid understanding of Lean / Six Sigma principles
Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently
Self-directed
Excellent problem-solving skills
Willingness to challenge the status quo
Ability to work effectively in a changing environment
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, operations management
Formal Lean / CI training strongly preferred
Desired Experience / Skills
Prior experience in furniture manufacturing or related industries
