Mechanical Designer
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role requires a creative and technically skilled individual with a background in CAD/drafting and experience in medical device design. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of designing injection molded parts and the ability to ideate, sketch, model components, and create prototypes.
Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical and electrical components using SolidWorks.
Create and modify injection molded parts, ensuring the design of at least 10 parts, with a preference for over 50.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to communicate concepts, ideas, and sketches.
Integrate electrical and mechanical components in product designs.
Design fixtures for test methods, lab equipment, and production/manufacturing processes.
Participate in the development of capital electrical and mechanical systems such as infusion pumps, CT, MRI, X-ray, ventilators, dialysis, and surgical equipment.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 3 years of experience in product design, specifically in capital electrical and mechanical systems.
SolidWorks proficiency, including PDM experience.
Strong aptitude in both electrical and mechanical design.
Experience with injection mold design.
Ability to create detailed drawings and prototypes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
CAD/drafting degree from a 2-year technical college.
Experience with Grand Avenue Software.
Familiarity with master reference geometry linking to multiple child parts.
Work Environment The position is 100% on-site, providing access to a 3D printer for testing designs. The work environment is highly collaborative, involving close interaction with four other members of the Mechanical Team. You will be reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maple Grove, MN.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $51.00/hr.
