RN Director of Case Management, Mobile, Alabama The RN Director of Case Management is accountable for the overall operation of the department, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and compassionate Care Coordination across the continuum while aligning with institutional mission, vision, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) required

Bachelor Degree in Nursing required

Director of Case Management experience in an Acute Hospital setting

Master's Degree in Healthcare-related discipline preferred

Certification on Case Management preferred

Responsibilities

Oversees departmental performance, staffing levels, skill mix, recruitment, hiring, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and employee development in compliance with university and hospital policies

Develops and manages an annual budget, monitors expenses/revenues, identifies variances, and implements cost-effective practices in collaboration with other departments

Evaluates space needs, recommends allocation/design, and prepares bids for supplies, materials, and equipment acquisition/distribution

Develops, implements, and updates policies/procedures in accordance with JCAHO and hospital standards through interdepartmental collaboration

Translates institutional mission, vision, and values to staff; fosters a supportive environment for medical, nursing, and allied health students

Manages Care Management and Social Work programs, ensuring timely discharge planning (placement, equipment, follow-up) from admission

Ensures compliance with regulatory/accreditation standards; identifies and resolves risk management/quality issues via intervention or referral

Drives performance improvement using ICARE methodology; facilitates staff education, competency validation, and timely evaluations

Participates in strategic planning for the department and institution, adapting plans to internal/external changes

Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care; maintains professional communication with physicians, patients, families, and teams

Adheres to Infection Control, Safety, and compliance policies; performs all duties ethically, promptly, and within licensure scope

Regular and prompt attendance; ability to work defined schedule and additional hours
