Job Title Division Director, Gynecologic Specialties

Hours 40 hours per week; M-F

Location Onsite at Tufts Medical Center - Boston, MA. May require travel to offsite locations in Massachusetts as needed.

Job Profile Summary Provide strategic and operational leadership across a growing network of gynecologic specialty services with focus on operational excellence, access expansion, and patient‑centered care delivery. Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and practice leaders to ensure consistent, high‑quality clinical operations across both academic and community‑based settings. The Division Director reports directly to the Department Director, OBGYN and is based at Tufts Medical Center.

Job Overview Direct oversight of clinic operations at Tufts Medical Center and Woburn practice locations, developing standardized workflows, staffing models, and clinic processes that enhance efficiency while maintaining exceptional patient experience. Align scheduling templates, staffing support, and cross‑site coordination to ensure seamless care delivery regardless of practice location. Optimize infrastructure to support physicians practicing across multiple community locations, collaborate with community‑based practices to strengthen integration, expand access, and support sustainable growth. Lead initiatives to improve access, reduce wait times, enhance care coordination, and standardize best practices across multiple community locations. Drive continuous improvement efforts, foster a culture of accountability and teamwork, and build the clinic infrastructure necessary to support scalable, high‑performing gynecologic specialty services. Provide close support to a clinical subdivision and Chair/Chief in carrying out the annual business plan, managing the financial and administrative aspects of operations for hospital‑based clinics, and evaluating the operations of the assigned division.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

Five (5) years of progressive experience in operations, project management, and/or healthcare management, including managing multi‑site or multi‑specialty practice operations, financial operations, and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

Seven (7) years of progressive experience in operations, project management, and/or healthcare management, including managing multi‑site or multi‑specialty practice operations, financial operations, and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, recommend, and monitor the operating budget for effective variance reporting and corrective action to ensure conformity with the budget.

Maintain appropriate financial/statistical performance data and produce meaningful reports to monitor, evaluate, and improve financial and operational performance.

Provide analytical support to the respective division in conjunction with leadership.

Provide strategic and business planning for the division, including new physician recruitment plans and new programs/affiliation business plans.

Direct the efficient and accurate capture of charge entry, patient information, billing support, and co‑pay collection procedures for the billing of all physician services as well as hospital charges in clinic.

Maintain collaborative team relationships among subordinates, peers, and colleagues to foster the group’s achievement of goals and a positive work environment.

Develop and carry out cost containment strategies.

Develop and implement business plans for the division to foster the achievement of established goals for market share, revenue, budget, and patient visits.

Foster collaboration between physician practices and hospital business plans to support the achievement of common goals.

Develop, recommend, and administer physicians’ financial incentive programs to foster continual improvements in meeting established goals.

Recommend and administer activities to carry out the marketing plans for the assigned division.

Participate in hospital‑wide committees and projects focused on the creation, maintenance, and expansion of key relationships.

Participate in professional activities and maintain affiliations to keep abreast of trends, changes, regulations, and legislation in health care planning and network development.

Ensure the efficient utilization and development of personnel resources through programs for effective orientation, selection, staffing and scheduling, training, development, and morale.

Collaborate with Human Resources to hire, motivate, and supervise staff.

Ensure the fair administration of human resources programs and policies, including employee counseling and discipline.

Ensure compliance with JCAHO standards and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Ensure adequate information technology resources for efficient departmental operations, including hardware, software, networking, and telecommunications upgrades.

Work closely with divisional and departmental site Clinical Practice Supervisors to oversee daily operations of the outpatient clinical area.

Review Patient Satisfaction Reports and look for trends and improvements.

Communicate, operationalize, and enhance workflows in collaboration with hospital and nursing leadership.

Maintain a professional attitude toward all levels of leadership, staff, and the community.

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, and sitting within the clinic.

Ability to operate standard office equipment and use required software applications.

Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include occasional lifting and carrying of light objects.

Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of clinical operations in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Knowledge of specialized applications software for medical record, patient scheduling, and billing.

Ability to interpret financial data and effectively manage revenues and expenses according to budget.

Management, leadership, and interpersonal skills adequate for the effective management of clinic operations.

Pay Range $91,879.42 - $117,150.49
