Director, Environmental Services
Lead and provide daily & strategic direction for Environmental Services at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (BJH), Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital (BJWC), Goldfarb School of Nursing (GFSN) and the PCDC Center. Set long‑term vision, align practices with regulatory requirements and best practices for infection prevention, and support the hospital’s mission of patient care, safety, service and value.
Overview BJH is the largest hospital in Missouri and a top‑ranked facility by U.S. News & World Report, and is the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. BJH’s integrated care continuum includes a 120‑bed skilled nursing facility and a research campus housing academic faculty and community physicians. The Housekeeping Department delivers a clean and safe environment for patients, residents and staff.
Responsibilities
Manage staff: onboard, hire, train, allocate workload, conduct performance evaluations and professional development plans.
Develop and adhere to departmental staffing, revenue and expense budgets, responding to business changes that impact budget goals.
Develop a strategic plan for the department and oversee daily operations.
Establish a dashboard to monitor KPIs and the effectiveness of cleaning programs.
Ensure programs meet regulatory requirements & infection prevention standards and that all required reporting is completed.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
Experience:
5–10 years in a related role.
Supervisor Experience:
2–5 years leading a team.
