
Enterprise Citrix Administrator

Job Description
The Enterprise Citrix Administrator plays a crucial role in Platform Services within Infrastructure Services, specializing in managing and optimizing Citrix environment. This role is accountable for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Citrix systems, publishing virtual applications and desktops. The Enterprise Citrix Administrator will ensure these systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with UCSF business goals and IT standards. Their work positively impacts UCSF’s operations and culture by ensuring the IT infrastructure is operable, secure, efficient, and effective in service of UCSF’s academic mission. The team member will advance the mission by delivering exceptional information technology services across faculty, staff, and students.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Three or more years of experience in Citrix administration, including Citrix Virtual Apps or Citrix Desktop
Demonstrated successful experience in information technology, platform services, or Epic Client Systems
Thorough knowledge of Citrix virtual apps and desktop administration
Skilled in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Citrix environments to ensure optimal performance and availability
Strong customer‑service skills, including triage and escalation to supervisors and other teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers
Strong organizational skills, able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects
Experience working in a project‑based environment using leading project‑management practices, including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues
Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of scoping solutions based on available resources and timelines
Creative thinker, proposing innovative ideas and incorporating new technologies or processes
Ability to work with agility in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Epic Client Systems Administration
Knowledge of network architectures, including WAN, LAN, and cloud network technologies, and security protocols and firewall configurations
Awareness of IT compliance requirements
Ability to automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash
Certifications - Preferred
Citrix Certified Associate – App Delivery and Security (CCA‑AppDS)
Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA‑V)
