Field Superintendent – Existing Installations The Field Superintendent, Existing Installations (EI) is responsible for the servicing and repair of assigned units to conform to customer and company requirements related to quality improvement, safety, cost improvement, and customer satisfaction. The role includes employee selection, training, and safety for all assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure maintenance meets area and company quality standards and all contract requirements.
Implement customer and company requirements for quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety.
Implement EEO/AA requirements consistent with area, state, and federal laws.
Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and investigating and resolving customer complaints; may include a sales role.
Manage ongoing program of project audit to assure conformance of performance standards of quality, completeness, and safety.
Develop and implement program of manpower selection, training and performance appraisal essential to productivity and quality improvement objectives.
Implement route management strategy to ensure uniform application of preventive maintenance while controlling manpower to minimum level.
Develop spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality improvement among all employees.
Evaluate and initiate requests for tooling that supports productivity improvement.
Maintain and manage proactive relationships with local IUEC business agent.
Advise area management of competitor activity related to pricing, performance, and manpower.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred or 3 years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
Minimum work experience required, including specific job-related experience and years of experience, which are acceptable prerequisites.
Working knowledge of elevators and escalators to manage field personnel and meet area goals.
Strong verbal and written communication and proven leadership skills.
Ability to interpret customer concerns, mobilize internal resources, and ensure customer satisfaction while minimizing cost and HR disruption.
Capability to make sound judgments in motivation, training, and work assignments while adjusting manpower to a minimum level.
Ability to teach hourly employees company methods of quality, productivity, and safety.
Skill to communicate with and influence business agents, inspectors, etc., resolving disputes.
Demonstrate to customers that they receive fair value for their expenditures.
