Job Summary The
Director of Dining Services
is a thrilling opportunity for a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader. This key leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of
Dining Services in Nashville, TN . The Director ensures client and customer happiness with efficient, cost-effective management that goes above and beyond. They are responsible for all foodservice-related activities, including retail operations, cafeteria services, catering, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control, and all client-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead salaried managers and hourly associates in the Food Service Department.
Coordinate the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the account.
Interview, hire, and train colleagues; plan, assign, and direct tasks; evaluate performance; reward and lead colleagues; address concerns and resolve issues.
Prepare and handle annual budgets.
Apply company systems to complete vital daily, weekly, and monthly reports such as inventory, cash reports, production records, payroll/time‑keeping, etc.
Coordinate and participate in the preparation and service of food and beverage items, ensuring adherence to company food standards for preparation, presentation, sanitation, safety (meeting HACCP and OSHA guidelines), and portion control.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. or equivalent experience in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred.
Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control.
Experience in an education setting desirable.
Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Previous P&L accountability or contract‑managed service experience desirable.
Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and mentor skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to communicate on various levels, including management, client, customer, and associate levels.
Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
Proficient computer skills, including various computer programs, Microsoft Office, email, and the Internet.
