Job Summary and Qualifications The Director of Quality Improvement, in conjunction with the VP of Quality and Risk, demonstrates responsibility for and accountability in the organizational wide direction and facilitation of performance assessment, reassessment, development and implementation of the Quality/Performance Improvement program in accordance with all regulatory requirements. Responsible for the coordination of continuous regulatory, licensure, and accreditation compliance in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards. Responsible for quality improvement aspects related to state and federal licensing and accrediting such as data management, analysis, and improvement strategies. This position is responsible for continuous survey readiness.

What you will do in this role:

Assess needs and expectations of vital customers and suppliers for process improvement.

Access internal and external aggregate reference databases to identify best practices.

Apply scientifically based description/professional standards of patient care processes and procedures.

Oversee establishment of ongoing data collection and evaluation activities for all required elements.

Coordinate communication of peer review process to appropriate medical staff members: link relevant assessment process to practitioner profile.

Protect and support regulatory compliance and performance improvement by maintaining confidentiality of information appropriately in accordance with organizational policy and applicable laws/regulations and requirements.

Assist in identification of and communicates opportunities to improve processes or outcomes.

Design, implement, and oversee a process to support continuous regulatory compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and accreditation requirements including, but not limited to, CMS, TJC, Tennessee Department of Health.

Establish good working relationships with physicians and staff.

Fulfill departmental responsibilities with the long‑range plan, mission, vision, and values of TriStar Centennial Medical Center assisting the medical staff leaders and board.

Oversee current and emerging regulatory standards; establish expectations for compliance.

Oversee organization for announced and unannounced surveys from state and federal agencies and Joint Commission.

Establish courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed effectively.

Deal effectively with others in antagonistic situations, using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict between two or more people.

Collaboratively work with direct reports to identify the behaviors, knowledge, and skills required to achieve goals.

What qualifications you will need:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

3+ years of clinical healthcare experience required.

3 years of Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement experience required.

CPHQ Certification preferred.

Prior management experience in healthcare-related field required.
