On behalf of our client, a privately-held, Wisconsin-based manufacturer of precision springs and wire forms for demanding applications within Powersports, Automotive, Medical, and other industrial markets worldwide, we are seeking a
Director of Operations
responsible for providing strategic leadership across Manufacturing, Production Planning, and Safety functions within the Industrial Division. This role drives operational excellence by ensuring teams meet organizational goals, exceed customer expectations, and operate efficiently and safely. The Director of Operations partners with senior leadership to execute business strategies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Location of Plant & Role Southeast Wisconsin
Key priorities
Lead and manage Manufacturing, Production Planning, and Safety teams.
Provide clear direction, coaching, and leadership to direct reports to achieve business objectives.
Oversee training and development initiatives to build team capability and succession strength.
Ensure product, material, and information flow are synchronized to maximize efficiency and minimize operating costs.
Promote and champion a culture of continuous improvement across all operational functions.
Support the implementation of new equipment and processes in collaboration with Manufacturing and Sales Engineering teams.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute annual business objectives and long-term strategic plans.
Supervisory oversight
Provides leadership in operations to ensure expectations are continually met or exceeded.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Experience & Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years' experience managing people and teams
Ability to drive change, build trust, instill confidence, and work collaboratively to create positive team dynamics
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related business systems.
Experience operating in an ISO/IATF-certified environment.
Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
Demonstrated success leading change initiatives within a growing organization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Physical requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
