Overview
The Director of Health Information Services oversees the daily operations of Health Information Services and Transcription, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This role leads departmental strategy, drives employee engagement, and promotes a culture aligned with organizational values including quality, service, teamwork, and compassion. The Director manages budgets, staffing, policies, and performance programs while serving as a key resource for clinical and administrative teams. Education, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding principles, case-mix systems, and JCAHO standards
Demonstrated effective planning and organizing abilities, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of computers and their capabilities
Required Length And Type Of Experience Three (3) years of supervisory experience in Health Information Management is required
Required Licensure Or Certification Must be a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), an Accredited Health Information Technician (RHIT), or possess a bachelor's degree in a related field
Required Physical And Environmental Demands Walking, bending, lifting. Spends a considerable amount of time sitting at a computer terminal. Ability to read and comprehend medical records. Some driving.
