Okoboji Motor Company is seeking a proven Automotive Sales Manager to lead, develop, and drive performance within our high-volume new and used vehicle departments. We represent Chevrolet and Toyota brands, creating unmatched opportunity in one of Iowa’s most dynamic dealership environments.
This is not an entry-level desk role — we are looking for a leader who can:

Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Performance Management
Lead and manage a team of Automotive Sales Consultants and BDC representatives
Desk deals and structure transactions to maximize gross profit
Monitor front-end gross, backend penetration, and overall sales KPI performance
Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales objectives
Track closing ratios, CSI, appointment performance, and lead conversions
Drive accountability through structured follow-up processes
Inventory & Revenue Management
Partner with the General Manager on new and used vehicle inventory strategy
Analyze aging inventory and adjust pricing strategy accordingly
Forecast monthly volume and implement action plans to close performance gaps
Oversee pricing, trade evaluations, and deal structuring
CRM & Lead Management
Oversee CRM usage and enforce disciplined follow-up processes
Improve internet lead response times and appointment set ratios
Ensure consistent engagement with phone, internet, and showroom traffic
Collaborate with marketing and digital platforms to drive lead generation
Team Development
Train and mentor sales consultants on product knowledge, objection handling, and closing techniques
Conduct regular sales meetings and performance reviews
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and development of top talent
Foster a culture of professionalism, urgency, and customer experience excellence
Qualifications
3+ years Automotive Dealership Sales Management experience (Sales Manager, Desk Manager, GSM, or Used Car Manager)
Proven track record of increasing dealership revenue and gross profit
Strong understanding of F&I collaboration and deal flow
CRM and desking software proficiency required
Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching ability
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
